Dennis Ourand, CPCU, ARM

Dennis Ourand brings 30 years of dedicated construction insurance experience to Construction Risk Solutions (CRS). He began his career with a national carrier as a large-risk casualty underwriter. The technical knowledge gained from his underwriting experience is proving to be invaluable to CRS clients. The ability to develop and create a creditable loss forecast is the cornerstone of insurance pricing and collateral review. Dennis is recognized by both the local and national construction underwriting communities for his expertise.

While working as an account executive for national brokerage firms handling some of the largest contractors in the country, Dennis obtained hands-on experience on some of the most creative and complicated insurance placements in the industry. His background includes the development of Retros, large deductible / SIR programs, self insurance, captives, and other alternative risk financing options. As a dedicated construction broker, Dennis has become adept at evaluating the risk transfer language within construction contracts and an expert in helping clients limit the exposures they may assume during the bid process. Because of his strengths in this area Dennis and his support staff have become an extension of the risk management department of the CRS clients.

Dennis has a degree in finance from Towson State University. He holds the designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and is an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). His personal interests include clay target sports, golf, skiing, and motorcycles. A native of Maryland, Dennis lives with his wife and four children in Baltimore County.
